Brain Injury Support Group
Brain injury affects different people in different degrees, but those who are living with a brain injury often experience similar emotions and frequently feel isolated and alone in working through them. Dealing with a brain injury or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) can be challenging for both the patient and his or her family, but sharing your experiences with people who have had similar experiences can help.
This group is facilitated by Stacey Garcelon, M.Ed, NCC, also a survivor TBI, and in collaboration with Brain Injury Association of Indiana. This group is here to provide a nonjudgmental framework for people living with brain injuries to find understanding and support from others who are in similar situations.
This goals of this group: provide information on TBI recovery, to meet others, share our experiences, process emotions in a safe and supportive environment, and/or provide support in working toward various goals, promote participation in previous activities or returning to school/work, to just have fun and be social with others who understand TBI.
For the month of March, we will meet at The Nest 803 Franklin St, Michigan City, IN 46360.
Please call 219-207-7222 to RSVP, and to be informed if something changes... ie weather etc...
