In an effort to support our local businesses during the holidays\, we are holding an event focused on getting customers downtown shopping "Small" during the national "Shop Small Saturday". Participating businesses are asked to have specials\, refreshments\, door prizes or other exciting activities to attract people into their storefront. Patrons will be given a list of participating businesses which they will travel to and receive a stamp or store owner initials to signify they have visited. Once every store is visited\, they will be entered into a drawing for a grand prize.\n\n\n\nThe community is also welcome to gather in Plaza 618 beginning at 4:00 PM for a Tree Lighting ceremony that includes a brief presentation by Mayor Mark Krentz and a performance by the La Porte High School Show Choir.
