DESCRIPTION:La Porte County Bicentennial Committee will host an ALL-IN Block Party on Saturday\, October 8\, from 12:00 - 4:00pm at Plaza 618 on the corner of Monroe St. and Lincolnway downtown La Porte. This exciting event is designed to encourage the citizens of La Porte to engage with the community and make the state of Indiana even better. \n\n\n\nIndiana Humanities www.indianahumanities.org/ALL-IN selected La Porte County Bicentennial Committee as one of 11 organizations from across the state to host ALL-IN Block Parties in their communities. Each awarded organization receives $1\,000 in addition to a training workshop\, promotional materials and prizes to offer to participants. The last round of awardees joins 38 previously awarded communities that have hosted or will host an ALL-IN Block Party through 2016.\n\n\n\nALL-IN Block Parties are designed to bring people together to participate in a series of activities that encourage Hoosiers to learn more about Indiana and imagine ways to make Indiana even better. \n\n\n\nThe La Porte County Bicentennial ALL-IN Block Party is being held on the day and at the same time the Bicentennial Torch Relay will be traveling through La Porte County. Our Block Party will feature activites crafted by La Porte County Bicentennial Committee and vital community partners. Block Party attendees will be encouraged to participate in challenges such as a "City Selfie Savenger Hunt" and "Civility Graffiti Wall."
