Located at Bethany Lutheran Church\, 102 G. Street\, La Porte\, the doors will open at 2:30 pm and the performance will begin at 3:00pm. This concert is free and open to the public. \n\n \n\nJoin us for this upbeat and joyful yearly concert performed by the LCSO Children's Chorus\, under the direction of Mathew Nelson. \n\n \n\nThis years program will have you rocking in your seats as the children sing you through a history of Rock 'n' Roll! This popular genre of music originated and evolved in the United States in the late 40's and early 50's. Musical selections that highlight works by Chuck Berry\, who created that instantly recognizable rock guitar sound\, will kick off the concert.\n\n\n\nAs the children sing you through the history of rock music you'll enjoy the rockabilly sounds of Elvis to the British invasion of the Beatles. Then they'll take you through progressive rock\, arena rock and pop rock with popular hits by Queen and Journey\, an American rock band favorite. \n\n \n\nThis years program will feature several children performing in solos\, duets and trios. Through the ages Rock 'n' Roll has influenced our lifestyles\, our fashions and our attitudes and you can be sure to experience all that and more at this wonderfully fun and free concert! \n\n \n\nThe LCSO Children's Chorus is currently in it's seventh season as a community choral music program. Comprised of over forty students in grades 2-6\, the children hail from schools throughout the La Porte County area. Each week throughout the school year they rehearse under the direction of Matthew Nelson and learn fundamental techniques of group and solo performance.
