DESCRIPTION:Join us for Business Made Social\, a networking event for La Porte business people!\n\n\n\nOur speaker will be Michelle Shirk\, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of La Porte County. With two new clubs recently started\, there is a lot happening with the organization.\n\n\n\nAttendees will have one minute to give an introduction of who they are and what their business is. Coffee and tea will be provided.\n\n\n\nThis event is free of charge.\n\n\n\nCall 219.324.8584 for more information or to register. By registering for this event\, you are not registering for all future Business Made Social events.\n\n\n\nMichelle Shirk is a longtime La Porte County resident with a passion for creating safe\, welcoming community spaces. After starting her career as a litigation attorney\, she transitioned to the non-profit field where she has spent the past decade working to make a difference through local organizations like Lubeznik Center for the Arts and the La Porte County Family YMCA.\n\n\n\nIn March 2020\, Michelle assumed her current role as Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of La Porte County (BGCLPC)\, which provides kids ages 4 to 18 with free afterschool and summer programming that promotes Academic Success\, Character & Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles. During her tenure\, the organization has grown from 3 Clubs in Michigan City to 5 Clubs around La Porte County\, with 3 additional locations on the horizon for 2023.\n\n\n\nIn recent years\, Michelle has proudly volunteered her time to a variety of community causes\, including the La Porte County Public Library\, Discussion over Dinner conversation series\, Youth Service Bureau of La Porte County and the Fort La Play Porte Redesign and Rebuild project. She enjoys spending as many hours as possible outdoors with her husband\, Nick\, and children\, Evelyn (11) and Miles (7). Her favorite places in Northwest Indiana include Indiana Dunes State Park\, Pinhook Bog and Red Mill County Park.\n\n\n\nThis event will take place the third Tuesday of every other month\; time varies.\n\n\n\nPlease let us know if you have any exceptions or special needs by 01/13/23. By attending this event\, you are accepting to be photographed and have those materials utilized in future LEAP marketing materials.
