DESCRIPTION:The Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon featuring La Porte sports legend Ron Reed on Thursday\, October 13 at Best Western Plus\, 444 Pine Lake Avenue in La Porte. Registration for this event will begin at 11:00 a.m. with lunch and the program beginning at 11:30 a.m. Harbour Trust & Investment Management Company is sponsoring this event and was instrumental in helping it to come to fruition.\n\n \n\nRon Reed was born in 1942 in La Porte\, Indiana\, and he had a long career in sports\, including both baseball and basketball\, playing for La Porte High School\, University of Notre Dame\, Atlanta Braves\, Philadelphia Phillies\, Detroit Pistons\, and others. Ron Reed has been honored by the City of La Porte throughout the years\, being given a key to the city and having Ron Reed Field in Fox Park named in his honor. At this event\, there will be a proclamation to name the day Ron Reed Day.\n\n \n\nRegistration is encouraged for this event and can be done online by clicking the register button above or by calling 219.362.3178. The cost for attendance is $31 for Chamber members and $36 for non-Chamber members. This event includes a lunch buffet.
