DESCRIPTION:The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra presents Celebration! a tribute to the music of Cole Porter\, on Saturday April 16\, 2016\, 7:30 pm located at the Civic Auditorium\, 1001 Ridge Road La Porte. Doors will open at 6:30pm. This concert is made possible by generous support from the Robert J. Hiler Family Foundation with additional support provided by Dr. & Mrs. Charles Hagenow\, Thode Floral and Best Western\, La Porte. \n\n \n\nJoin us as we celebrate the music of one of Indiana's most famous composers\, Cole Porter\, as we sing our way into your hearts for a fantastic finale to our season! Many talented soloists will join the orchestra to perform some of Porters most famous hits such as I Get a Kick Out of You and Too Darn Hot. Also joining the Symphony will be Illumination\, a twenty-voice ensemble composed of singers from Northwest Indiana and Chicago\, directed by Becky Osborn. \n\n\n\nFeatured solo performers include Kyrie Anderson\, a Chicago actress and vocalist\, originally from Hobart Indiana. She began singing at a young age and has been involved with the Northwest Indiana Theatre community for many years. Betsy Archer\, a local favorite\, is a past winner of the La Porte Symphony's Hoosier STAR competition. Recently she performed La Traviata for over 4000 enthusiastic new opera fans at the symphony's children's concert. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJeremiah Souza\, our Tenor soloist\, placed second in last years Hoosier STAR of STARS competition and has performed as a soloist locally and nationally. Most recently\, Souza performed the lead role of Angel in the Dunes Summer Theatre's production of Rent.
