DESCRIPTION:Can We Clearly See What Workplace Bullying Is? In 2014\, Dr. Griffin shared her presentation with the HR professionals in the community. The content was so valuable and she was so engaging- that this has been the most requested topic and speaker since then! At the end of the presentation\, attendees will be able to: -Distinguish between 'types' of workplace bullying -Distinguish bullying from normal interpersonal conflicts -Identify ways in which workplace bullying may break the law -Identify options for dealing with bullying and creating an environment that deters bullying behaviors Dr. Andrea Griffin is an Assistant Professor of Management in the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University Northwest. She is certified in Dispute Resolution and Mediation and conducts research in many areas including sexual harassment\, gender\, and emotional displays in the workplace. Her research has been published in journals such as Human Relations\, Journal of Managerial Psychology\, and Human Resource Management Review. She has also volunteered with various organizations including the YMCA of Northwest Indiana\, United Way\, United Performing Arts Fund\, City of Gary and Gary Community Schools Corp. This meeting is jointly sponsored by the Greater LaPorte Economic Development Corporation and the Economic Development Corporation of Michigan City.
