To celebrate\, the City of La Porte will perform a ribbon cutting administered by the Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce on May 30 at 4:00 p.m. at the plaza\, located at 618 Lincolnway.\n\n\n\nWith tables for outdoor dining\, benches for relaxing\, an interactive fountain\, plenty of flexible space for all kinds of events\, and more to come\, Plaza 618 is sure to be a great place to enjoy Downtown La Porte throughout the year. Plaza 618 came to fruition through generous donations from many individuals\, organizations\, and local businesses\, particularly La Porte Hospital\, and a grant from the Indiana Office of Tourism Development and Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.\n\n\n\n"I love seeing people in the plaza eating lunch or hanging out on the benches\, families playing with the fountain\, just more bustle and activity in our downtown\," says Beth Shrader\, La Porte City Planner.
