SUMMARY:South LaPorte County Special Education Cooperative- Reverse Job Fair
DESCRIPTION:The South LaPorte County Special Education Cooperative will hold a Reverse Job Fair! ASPIRE is a high-end work immersion program through the South LaPorte County Special Education Cooperative that helps students transition to whatever is next for them! Currently there are 7-8 students in the program that are ready and able to be employed.These students have worked at 2 local business partners\, LaPorte Hospital and Best Western. The students work about a 5 hour shift\, alongside employees of these 2 partners\, to learn job and social skills. Then\, they have about 2 hours in the classroom a day\, as well. The goal of this ASPIRE program is competitive employment. Some of the skills they have learned are: housekeeping/custodial\, dish room/cafeteria\, front desk/customer service\, laundry\, central supply\, and more.\n\n \n\nThe reverse job fair featuring these students will take place on November 16th\, 5:00-6:00 p.m. at LaPorte Hospital. The students will have a display board highlighting their skills\, and resumes\, etc.
