The completion of the South Shore Train boarding platform will be celebrated on Monday\, October 5\, 2015 with a ceremony including remarks from representatives of the St. Joseph County Airport Authority and Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD). When the South Shore Train #7 arrives at 12:08 p.m.\, the train itself will cut the ribbon with those passengers being the first to offload and board from the new platform. \n\n \n\nThe new platform\, designed by BF&S\, is made of composite material and replaces the 30 year old structure. Local contractor Ziolkowski Construction\, Inc. completed the project on time and on budget.\n\n \n\n"We would like to recognize BF&S\, Ziolkowski Construction and NICTD for their great work and partnership on this project\," said Mike Daigle\, St. Joseph County Airport Authority Executive Director.
