A Community Prayer Breakfast

We are thrilled to welcome our keynote speaker, Hedda Sharapan of Mister Rodgers' Neighborhood, who will speak to us about "Building a Neighborhood from the Inside Out – What We Can Learn from Fred Rogers". La Porte's own Country Caterers will provide a delicious breakfast and we will enjoy beautiful music from our High School Orchestra and Band musicians while we eat. It is sure to be a lovely event, designed to strengthen our La Porte Community. We hope you will join us!

In case you've not heard of FCU, we are a group of pastors who first gathered in 2021 and have sponsored other La Porte events like Singspiration - a Christian musical performance and sing along, community prayer services for Ukraine and Earth Day, and two smaller prayer gatherings during the week of Prayer for Christian Unity. We are passionate about strengthening our community with a defined mission of "through collaboration, compassion, and creativity, we seek to be a catalyst that demonstrates how diverse faith communities make the La Porte area a stronger and more desirable place to live, worship, and encounter God."

Our goal with this event is to bring our community closer together, especially on shared topics like building a good neighborhood. It is our hope that your business or organization will not only support this event by registering for a table or two, but that you will bring yourselves and your colleagues for a delicious breakfast, a wonderful speaker, beautiful music, and prayer. The suggested donation for a table, with 8 seats, is $200 with individual seats set at $35 each. We give thanks to the Center for Congregations for supporting this project by awarding us a grant to cover half of the cost. All monies collected through table donations will cover the remainder of the fees.

Our FCU team is intent on working together, across denominations, to build community through our mutual interests and beliefs. We pray that you will take this invitation to heart and join us for this Community Prayer Breakfast, hopefully the first of many.
