Black Girlhood Altar-Making Workshop
The Black Girlhood Altar-Making Workshop, on Sunday, February 2 from 1-3 p.m., is an empowering experience designed to teach participants the art of creating personal altars and engaging in meaningful ritual practices. This workshop places a special emphasis on altar medicine to encourage the normalization of altar-making as a daily practice. Attendees will receive spiritual tools to foster their sacred practices at home, ensuring the continuation of their spiritual and healing journey beyond the workshop. Additionally, the workshop presents a unique opportunity for participants to contribute new offerings and objects to the collective Black Girlhood Altar project. The workshop is led by artist and co-founder Scheherazade Tillet, along with leaders from A Long Walk Home.
To sign up for the workshop, please email artinfo@lubeznikcenter.org.
This workshop is supported by the Arts Midwest GIG Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from Indiana Arts Commission.
