La Porte County Symphony Orchestra Auditions
The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra (LCSO) will hold auditions at the La Porte High School Band Room on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. An appointment is necessary and may be scheduled online (www.lcso.net) or through email (personnel@lcso.net)
The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra announces auditions for the 2015-16 season will be held, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the La Porte High School. Under the direction of Maestro Philip Bauman, the orchestra is seeking qualified musicians to participate in the 2015-16 season, which includes, classical, pops and children's concerts.
Auditions will be held on September 1, 2015 at La Porte High School from 7-10 p.m. Appointments are required and may be done online or by contacting the personnel manager through email.
The orchestra is seeking qualified musicians to fill the vacancies in the following positions:
- Principal Clarinet
- Principal Trombone
- Associate Concertmaster
- Principal Viola
- Associate Principal Viola
- Associate Principal Bass
- Percussion
- Section Strings

The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra has a unique apprentice program, which places highly skilled high school students side-by-side seasoned professionals. These paid positions offer advanced and motivated students a chance to learn firsthand the discipline, motivation, character and musicianship necessary to perform at a professional level. A limited number of Student Apprentice positions are available. A private teacher recommendation is requested to secure an audition time. The FANFESTIBRATION - 2015-2016 season will feature a Children's concert, three subscription concerts and a holiday pops concert. The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is a per service orchestra offering contracts on an annual basis with over 10 concerts and 30 services per season. All positions are paid and include an additional mileage stipend. The 60 piece orchestra, led by music director Philip Bauman includes musicians from Michigan City, La Porte, Chesterton, Valparaiso, Merrillville, South Bend, Northwest Indiana and Southwestern Michigan.
