For current and future generations, Unity Foundation of La Porte County purchased two acres of land at the former Roskoe’s site to ensure the view of Pine Lake remains open for all to enjoy – providing both social and economic benefit. With generous support from local businesses, construction firms, individuals and families, Unity is nearing the goal to pay off the land and gift the park to the city. Help us celebrate the progress – such as the new parking lot supported by Alcoa Foundation and the walking trail funded by IU Health - at a ribbon-cutting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9 at the property. Stay to hear updates about this exciting project to benefit our community. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.
Major donors will be recognized, including the Department of Natural Resources Bicentennial Nature Trust grant, Alcoa Foundation, Horizon Bank, Construction Advancement Foundation, The La Porte Savings Bank, La Porte Park Foundation, IU Health La Porte Hospital, La Porte Urban Enterprise Zone, NIPSCO/NiSource, General Insurance Services, American Licorice, PNC Bank, Bruno Enterprises, Packaging Logic, Howes & Howes, La Porte Area Lake Association, La Porte Lions Club, Newby, Lewis, Kaminski & Jones, Sauers Family Dealerships, Tonn and Blank, Walsh & Kelly and Unity Foundation board members.
