Census in Your Community of La Porte County
The 2020 Census will influence federal allocations for health care, education, roads and so much more for the next decade. The data will inform business decisions, government planning, and allows our community to better understand how it is changing. An accurate count is paramount to Shaping Our Future.
You are invited to help us take ownership of our Census count by attending a special presentation entitled “Census in Your Community” from 2-3pm. Jan. 14 at MIchigan City LaPorte Visitor Center located at Marquette Mall in Michigan City. NIcholas Elliott, US Census Bureau Partnership Specialist will share critical information about how the 2020 Census will be conducted, the need to hire local people for Census jobs, and how you can support Census outreach to improve the accuracy of our Census count.
This is one of several meetings being held around the state that aim to improve outreach and communication ahead of the 2020 Census.
Census Day is April 1, 2020. Your and your community's participation in the Census is vital and you can make a difference in the future of our city, county, state and nation. Please join us Jan. 14 to learn more.
