Hiring Employees? – Getting off to a Successful Start will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday Feb. 18 at the Purdue Technology Center of NWI, 9800 Connecticut Drive.
Jim Jorgensen, of Hoeppner, Wagner & Evans, Attorneys at Law, and Sharon McGuire, of the Society for Human Resource Management of Northwest Indiana, will spotlight hiring and on-boarding processes.
Topics include: when employers can and cannot use independent contractors, how to conduct and use background checks, use of social media to gather information on applicants, questions that can and cannot be part of the interview process and practical tips to a successful on-boarding process after employees are hired.
