You-nique Bou-tique Ribbon Cutting
At the corner of Michigan and Jefferson Avenue you may have noticed a few well-dressed women gracing the windows of the Historic Rumely, with a nod to Downton Abbey and Mr. Selfridge.... La Porte's newest addition; You-nique Bou-tique stirs echoes of a bye-gone era with brand new fashions and trends.
You-nique Bou-tique; a chic boutique with a vintage flair; opened (softly) mid-April to a collection of unsuspecting customers who happened by City Hall, the YMCA, PNC and Temple News, discovering the hidden door to 800 Michigan Avenue Suite #10. "We're still hanging new inventory and styling our displays" says Julie Berry, business owner and buyer, "but so many people were popping by and trying to get in, we decided to open before our Official Grand Opening!"
Affectionately called "You Bou" by regular clients who visit Berry's additional locations in Shipshewana, IN and Mesa, AZ, she offers brand-new fashions and eclectic jewelry for ladies who love to dress and feel unique. "Our style is vintage-inspired" comments Fashion Stylist, Chrissy Berry, "ruffles, layers, lace and crochet; very feminine and extremely pretty. I love to help our customers pull together a special outfit or suggest an embellished top that works well with a beloved skirt for a fresh new look!"
Why La Porte? Berry says, "I lived on Pine Lake North for 13-years and have always felt a connection with this small town with a big heart, we hope the community will embrace so we can be a stable, long-term option for fashionable ladies!"
With a bit of room to grow, You Bou showcases several girlfriend/daughter gift lines and will soon launch Shu Bou, s separate salon highlighting the newest in shoes, sandals, boots and handbags. And then there's Beau Bou, a selection of male-centric gifts; for a little something to take home for your beau.

The Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce will administer the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 800 Michigan Avenue in downtown La Porte at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10th, 2016. You Bou will host their Grand Open House, Friday after the ceremony and Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00 p.m. where everyone is welcome for punch and cookies.
