La PORTE, IN (March 27, 2025) – The past year held many successes for the La Porte Urban Enterprise Association, according to Board President Mike Riehle. Formed in 2002, the La Porte UEA awards grants each year to local businesses and residents residing within the Urban Enterprise Zone. In 2024, the UEA was proud to award more than $110,000 to aid 13 business owners to improve the outward appearance of buildings within the zone. La Porte, IN – Patients with cancer in La Porte faced a challenging obstacle last summer when the oncology practice at Northwest Health - La Porte closed its doors. The facility, which opened in 2023, was the only oncology and hematology office in the city. Dermody appoints Drangmeister as new Chief of Police

La Porte, IN – Mayor Dermody in partnership with IST Distribution, announced plans for a $24 million capital investment to build and equip an 81,000 sq. ft. plastic pellet distribution facility along 39 North at 2321 Progress Drive.
