Michigan City, Indiana – Horizon Bank is pleased to announce the donation given to National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) LaPorte in the amount of $5,000. This contribution will directly support NAACP LaPorte County's Soul Power Program, which provides training in solar installation and infrastructure for 35 students. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone in 2025: Volunteer at Reins of Life, Inc.
Reins of Life is a therapeutic horseback riding facility that serves NWI children and adults with disabilities through horseback riding, therapeutic carriage driving, interactive vaulting, school programs, and community visits. Each participant requires one to three volunteers for their lesson, so the volunteer need is high. There are also two feeding shifts per day, with three to four volunteers per shift. Even if you don’t have any horse experience, Reins would love to add you to their volunteer roster.

Mayor Tom Dermody Announces New Development Along 39 North
La Porte, IN – Mayor Dermody in partnership with IST Distribution, announced plans for a $24 million capital investment to build and equip an 81,000 sq. ft. plastic pellet distribution facility along 39 North at 2321 Progress Drive.
