At Boys & Girls Clubs of La Porte County (BGCLPC), kids come first – no matter the time of year. The organization currently operates 9 free afterschool Clubs and 2 summer camps. On a typical day, Club members might be found:

• Designing, decorating and flying kites outside;
• Laughing and splashing down an inflatable water slide;
• Experiencing chemical reactions while erupting pumpkin volcanoes; or
• Decking the halls of their Clubs with paper snowflakes.

All 9 Clubs offer a balanced schedule of programs designed to promote Academic Success, Character & Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles. Locations include Michigan City, La Porte, Westville, Kingsford Heights and Rolling Prairie. BGCLPC is currently on track to serve a record 1,250 children in 2025!

BGCLPC relies on community support to keep its Clubs accessible to all children who need them. The organization recently launched its year-end campaign with a goal of raising $100,000 by December 31 to support its expanded operations. “The funds we raise will help us provide unforgettable experiences to thousands of children throughout the year,” says Michelle Shirk, BGCLPC CEO. “We are so grateful to everyone who believes in our mission to ensure every child in La Porte County has a place to learn, grow and reach their full potential!”
