Good Life Awards Returns to Spread Positivity & Honor Community Leaders

GreatNews.Life (GNL) will be hosting the 9th Good Life Awards on Thursday, December 5 at Uptown Social to honor inspiring individuals throughout Northern Indiana.

GNL launched the Good Life Awards in 2012 to recognize Region residents who have impacted its mission of spreading good news in a significant way. This awards party will induct a new class of six people, adding to the current alumni list of 48 leaders, and will recognize them with a custom-crafted, solid steel Good Life Award.

“This award has been one way to recognize the positive impact of people that embrace the premise of our mission,” GNL Founder Chris Mahlmann said. "This year, with the growth of our team, a common thread is how these recipients embrace, support, and align with our Lifers. This began as my mission, and Natalie and I are blessed that a legion of Lifers live that mission everyday."

Winners of the Good Life Awards are hand-selected by Mahlmann for embodying positivity and aligning with the GreatNews.Life vision of embracing the good around us. Mahlmann looks for the qualities that make up the fabric of all the stories GNL covers: hard work, service to others, positive attitudes, and people who are drivers in improving the world around them.

City of Michigan City Mayor, Angie Nelson Deuitch was excited to hear that GNL chose to host the GLA awards in Michigan City this year.

“There’s so much good stuff happening in Michigan City and throughout Northwest Indiana,” Michigan City Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch said. “We’re glad GreatNews.Life takes the time to highlight the people and organizations doing that good work, and we’re proud they chose to host this year’s celebration in Michigan City. Thank you to everyone who makes our city and our region a great place to live, work and play.”

Previous winners of the Good Life Awards include non-profit, city and community leaders, legendary Lifers, and beacons of good that have connected with GNL’s team, mission, and vision.

It’s humbling to see the impact of the Good Life Awards on our community each year,” GNL Executive Director Jenny Craig-Brown said. “These awards aren’t just about recognition; they’re about showing our appreciation for the individuals who spread positivity, inspire others, and lift up those around them. We’re thrilled to continue the tradition of honoring those who truly make a difference.”

Tickets for the Good Life Awards can be purchased from Eventbrite for $50. Individuals or companies who would like to purchase full tables, bulk tickets, or sponsorships can contact Jenny Craig-Brown at Jenny@GreatNews.Life or 219-707-5023.
