Surf Internet Wins 2026 BBB Torch Award for Ethics

ELKHART, Ind. (Oct. 23, 2026) – Surf Internet®, a leading fiber-optic internet provider serving Indiana, Illinois and Michigan, has received a 2026 Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Indiana. Surf was one of three businesses named winners in the Business of Integrity category, alongside Sky Point Social Services and Sweetwater, during an awards ceremony Thursday, Oct. 22, in Fort Wayne.

The annual awards recognize businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals that demonstrate outstanding character, organizational culture, customer care and community involvement. This year's program drew more than 160 nominations from the BBB's 23-county service area, and an independent panel of judges selected six winners across three categories.

Surf's nomination highlighted its commitment to transparent customer policies, local customer support, expanding broadband access in underserved communities and charitable involvement throughout the region.

Accepting the award on Surf's behalf, Joel Richardson, Director of Customer Care, emphasized the role of the company's frontline employees.

The BBB Charitable & Educational Foundation hosted the awards presentation at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The foundation supports ethics education and community engagement throughout Northern Indiana.
