LCSO presents Animal Kingdom Concert February 8 at La Porte High School
La Porte, January 14, 2025 - The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present the second subscription concert of the 2024-25 season on Saturday, February 8 at 4 pm CST at the La Porte High School Performing Arts Center. Dr. Carolyn Watson will lead the orchestra in a family friendly concert that pays homage to animals and the natural world. Many thanks to Timothy and Anne Walsh for their generous underwriting of this concert.
The program includes Camille Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals, Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, and the US premier of Australian composer Matthew Hindson's Dangerous Creatures, a modern take on Carnival of the Animals depicting the many varied creatures of the Australian landscape.
The LCSO is excited to partner with the Michiana Humane Society, Humane Indiana, and Quinlan and Fabish Music Company to provide activities for families before and during the concert. Animal and instrument petting zoos will make this a fun and interactive event for the whole family!
Tickets can be purchased online at Animal Kingdom Tickets. Adult $25, Senior (60+) $22, Students with ID and Children FREE. Tickets will also be available at the door. About the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra
The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is a cornerstone of the vibrant arts landscape in Northwest Indiana. The orchestra serves the 110,000 residents of La Porte County and regions beyond, including Southwest Michigan. Now in its 52nd season, the LCSO has grown from a small community orchestra into a dynamic, professional organization of 60 musicians serving audiences from seven counties. Each year, the orchestra presents four subscription concerts, in addition to the Hoosier Star and Holiday at the Pops concerts. The LCSO's music education programming includes the annual Drayton Family Children's Education Concerts, which serve over 5,000 students each year, in addition to a Student Apprentice Program for high school musicians and numerous collaborations with area schools.
