New York Blower Announces Investment in New Office Building and Greenspace
La Porte, IN – New York Blower today announced plans for a $5,000,000 capital investment in a new office building and greenspace at their current location at 171 Factory Street.
New York Blower opened in Chicago as a humble sheet-metal shop in 1889 and opened their first plant in La Porte in 1919. Since then, the La Porte facilities have expanded over nine times. Currently consisting of three plants and over 205 employees, it is the central location for manufacturing, engineering, and quality.
According to Scott Hamilton, Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer of New York Blower, “This project provides additional space for our company as we continue to grow our business. The proposed project sets the course for the next 100 years in La Porte!”
Bringing the administrative departments under one roof, the 14,000 square foot office building will create a cohesive environment and enhance inner-office communications. The building will be built by local construction company Larson Danielson Construction. Plans for the building also include a greenspace along Factory Street that will honor and highlight the rich history and heritage of New York Blower in La Porte.
“New York Blower is precisely the type of company that the City of La Porte works hard to attract and keep,” Dermody said. “They have been great, longtime partners of ours, and it’s exciting to see them double down on their commitment to our community. We are happy to support them as they continue to make La Porte their home.”
