La Porte, IN — Runners and walkers planning to participate in an upcoming 5K are encouraged to register before the April 9 deadline in order to secure an official race t-shirt.
The La Porte City Park Foundation’s Earth Day 5K Family Fun Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, April 25, at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater. Participants who register by end of business day Wednesday, April 9, are guaranteed an official event t-shirt.
Registration will remain open after April 9 through race day; however, t-shirts cannot be guaranteed after the deadline.
The Earth Day 5K features a scenic course around Clear Lake with an out-and-back section on the Chessie Trail, beginning and ending at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater. The event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels and encourages the community to celebrate Earth Day through outdoor activity and environmental awareness.
Proceeds from the race benefit the La Porte City Park Foundation and support park preservation efforts and environmental initiatives throughout the city, helping ensure La Porte’s parks remain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for residents and visitors.
